THIS IS US Message Series

This is important.

Community is crucial to the life of any church. Because if we get relationships right, discipleship will follow. If we connect people in a real-world faith community, they will grow. We can’t build community by way of programming, but we can create the pathway—the opportunity—for birthing healthy community.

That’s why we’re spending the rest of February gearing up for a push into a new culture of Connect Groups coming this March. There is something powerfully unique about an intimate gathering around a living room, a classroom, or a dining room table that forces us to think differently than when we are in a big room for worship.

Isn’t it going to be a mess? Yeah. But small group community is where much of the theology taught from the pulpit has the opportunity to be fleshed out in conversation and action. If we want to be a church on mission, then we should teach it from the pulpit, yes. But then follow through and equip ourselves to wrestle with it in community. It’s messy that way, but it’s also fruitful.

We want to do everything we can, with Holy Spirit’s help, to make Destiny all about Jesus’ love for US, through US.
