THE MISSING PEACE, Part 1: Going Deeper Questions

THE MISSING PEACE, Part 1: Going Deeper Questions

We loved seeing everyone at church this weekend!  Feel free to message us during the week if you have any questions about the sermon. If you missed this week’s message, or want to hear it again, be sure to check out our SERMONS Page. Messages are generally posted each week by Wednesday morning.

Every week, it’s our goal to provide you with some questions to process the message deeper, either personally, or with a small group. Here are some questions for you to consider from this week’s message, “The Peacemaker”, from part 1 of THE MISSING PEACE message series with Pastor Shawn M. Shoup.

KEY SCRIPTURES

TALK IT OUT

Peace, or “shalom”, in the original language of scripture, is not just an absence of conflict, but a presence of the Lord’s blessing. It carries with it the idea of flourishing. To know shalom is to know God’s favor. His face will shine with pleasure on you.

God’s answer for the tragedy of sin and brokenness is the Peacemaker: Jesus.

  • How does our tragic brokenness impact you, personally, daily?
  • How does this tragic brokenness impact the world around you daily? Think of specific stories, specific lives – people – that are impacted.
  • Is Christ your Peacemaker? If not, take a minute right now and pray to ask Jesus that He be the peacemaker in your life. That He will calm the storms that rage in and around you. That He will be your Prince of Peace.
  • What does it look like when Jesus makes peace in the world around you? Through you? Is that something you’ve experienced? If not, take a minute right now and ask that Jesus – the Peacemaker – work through you to bring peace to those around you. That He would use you to calm the storms in the lives around you. To allow you to bring the Prince of Peace to the world.
