PROVERBS, Part 5: Going Deeper Questions

PROVERBS, Part 5: Going Deeper Questions

We loved seeing everyone at church this weekend!  Feel free to message us during the week if you have any questions about the sermon. If you missed this week’s message, or want to hear it again, be sure to check out our SERMONS Page. Messages are generally posted each week by Wednesday morning.

Every week, it’s our goal to provide you with some questions to process the message deeper, either personally, or with a small group. Here are some questions for you to consider from this week’s message, “Mind On My Money”, part 4 of the PROVERBS message series with Pastor Deanna M. Shoup.

KEY SCRIPTURE

TALK IT OUT

  • Proverbs has much to say about how we gain, spend, and pursue finances. Be honest. In what ways do you struggle with money? Perhaps you want it too much. Perhaps you need more. Perhaps you struggle to manage it.
  • Money can be dangerous. In what ways do you build boundaries for yourself to protect yourself from the dangers of money? Take a moment to ask Holy Spirit to protect your mind and heart.
  • Money is limited. Luke 16:10 (NLT) says, “If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities.” How well are you stewarding what you have? Take a moment to ask Holy Spirit to guide you in this matter.
  • Money is nice. It’s easy to look to money to provide for us. “More money would be nice!” How do you keep your eyes on the true Provider, Jesus, and not on finances themselves? Take a moment and ask Holy Spirit to help you to remember where all good things truly come from.
  • Money is manageable. Genesis 1:28 (NLT) says, “Then God blessed them and said, ‘Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.’” Remember, what God has given to you is yours to work with. Take a moment and ask Holy Spirit to help you to rule over your money and not let your money rule over you.
  • Have you gone to mydestiny.family/proverbs and signed up for daily readings in the book of Proverbs for the rest of August? If yes, great! If not, take a moment and consider joining us.
