We loved seeing everyone at church this weekend! Feel free to message us during the week if you have any questions about the sermon. If you missed this week’s message, or want to hear it again, be sure to check out our SERMONS Page. Messages are generally posted each week by Wednesday morning.
Every week, it’s our goal to provide you with some questions to process the message deeper, either personally, or with a small group. Here are some questions for you to consider from this week’s message, “Attending Church”, part 2 of the DEVELOPING HABITS THAT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE message series with Pastor Shawn M. Shoup.
KEY SCRIPTURE
TALK IT OUT
- Do you feel the church of today is focused and unified? Why or why not?
- It’s been said that, “There is no such thing as a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, because your relationship with Jesus isn’t meant to be kept personal.” Do you feel that this statement is accurate? How so?
- Jesus said the two greatest commandments — the two commandments that sum up all the rest — are to 1: love God, and 2: love your neighbor as you love yourself. Do you feel that the modern church is experiencing this network of relationship today? How can the church improve?
- Think of a hard or challenging time in your life where you felt like you were facing your battles completely alone. Pastor Shawn spoke this week about the Spartans. And how, in the Spartan war machine, “My sword is for my enemy; my shield is for my brother.” How would the added protection of a brother’s shield have impacted the hard time you faced alone? What steps can you take, moving forward, to make sure that your shield is devoted to the protection of your brothers?
