Don’t Waste Your Life, Part 1: Your Health

Don’t Waste Your Life, Part 1: Your Health

We loved seeing everyone this weekend! Feel free to message us during the week if you have any questions. If you missed this week’s message, or want to hear it again, be sure to check out our SERMONS Page. Messages are generally posted each week by Tuesday afternoon.

Every week, it’s our goal to provide you with some questions to process the message deeper, either personally, or with a small group. Here are some questions for you to consider from this week’s message, “Your Health” — part 1 of the DON’T WASTE YOUR LIFE series with Jim Pastor Shawn M. Shoup.

KEY SCRIPTURES

  • Romans 12: 1
  • Ephesians 5: 1-2, 15-18
  • 1 Corinthians 6 : 18-20

TALK IT OUT

Discuss these questions with someone—maybe a family member, friend, or member of your Connect Group. Use a communication method that works best for your situation.

Start talking.

Find a conversation starter for your group.

  • Define steward, stewardship, and waste.
  • How do you determine if time or an activity is being wasted?
  • How do you determine if your life is being managed well?

Start thinking.

Ask a question to get your group thinking.

  • Read Mathew 25: 20-28, Which steward are you, currently?
  • Would God be pleased of your stewardship?
  • Who receives the glory for what you are doing with your life and health?

Start sharing.

Choose a question to create openness.

  • When you reach your expiration date, what will be said of you?
  • How well are you connected to all of you?
  • What changes do you need to make?
  • Do you need someone to walk with you through the changes? If so, who would be the best person? Or do you ask God to provide them?

Start praying.

Be bold and pray with power.

Father,

Thank You for opening my eye to what changes I need to make. Give me the courage and strength to make those changes. Bring the person(s) to walk through this process with me. Encourage me when I lose hope or forget what I have decided. I desire for You to receive the glory for the way my life is managed.

Amen and amen.

Start doing.

Commit to a step and live it out this week.

  • If you are going to take some steps towards not wasting your health, write them down, and then share them with a trusted friend.
  • Consider finding someone who excel in eating well, exercise, healthy sleep, counseling, etc. to help walk with you in the area you are wanting to grow in.
  • Make an annual (at least) appointment to see a health care professional for a check-up/assessment.
