CIRCLING THE SUN, Part 7: Let’s Get It Started!

Every week, it’s our goal to provide you with some questions to process the message deeper, either personally, or with a small group. Here are some questions for you to consider from this week’s message, “Let’s Get It Started!”, part 7 of the CIRCLING THE SUN message series, with Pastor Shawn M. Shoup.

Discuss these questions with someone—maybe a family member, friend, or member of your Connect Group. Use a communication method that works best for your situation. 

Start talking.

Find a conversation starter for your group.  

• If you could make any personal life change – and money wasn’t an issue – what would you change?
• If you could change anything about our world, what would that be?

Start thinking.

Ask a question to get your group thinking. 

• What has happened in the world over the past 8 weeks? What has happened in your life?
• We’ve traveled over 85 MILLION miles already in 2021. What have you accomplished during that journey?

Start sharing.

Choose a question to create openness. 

• Do you feel you could have done more or better, or had bigger impact, during that 85-million-mile trip through January and February 2021?
• Psalm 90:12 “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain the heart of wisdom.” Do you feel that your view of the past 85-million miles has provided you with wisdom on how to use the next 85-million miles?

Start praying.

Be bold and pray with power. 

• God, thank You for the gift that is this day. This year. This trip around the Sun. I pray that You help me to understand the fleeting nature of life so that I may grow to use each moment wisely. Help me to value each moment You give me. Amen.

Start doing.

Commit to a step and live it out this week. 

• Continue to pray that God would help you to number your days that you may continue to grow a heart of wisdom.
• Spend 2021 maximizing each day, doing your best to not waste the gift that it is.
