- The dictionary defines shame in this way: the painful feeling arising from the consciousness of something dishonorable, improper, ridiculous, etc., done by oneself or another: “She was overcome with shame.” Have you ever experienced the pain of shame?
- John 8:10-11 (NLT) “Then Jesus stood up again and said to the woman, “Where are your accusers? Didn’t even one of them condemn you?” [11] “No, Lord,” she said. And Jesus said, “Neither do I. Go and sin no more.”
- This woman had been caught “in the act” of adultery. When the religious leaders brought her into the crowds before Jesus, how do you think she felt?
- Do you think her shame hurt?
- What do you think Jesus’ response to this woman and her accusers did to her sense of shame?
- 1 Corinthians, chapter 15, tells us about how the first Adam was a representation of Jesus, the Last Adam. If the original Adam walked naked and unashamed before God, what has Jesus done to bring us back to that type of relationship with the Father?
